As I continue on a journey of living, learning and loving myself into 2017; I wanted to share a few things I became really aware of that I have to work on. I like to self reflect every so often because I am constantly at battle with myself. Some of these will be challenging but worth it. After all, I am working towards a better me. Let's be honest, we can not expect different results with the same habits.

+
do not explain yourself because you do not owe anyone an explanation
learn to say no and not feel bad about it
celebrate yourself
know your worth
do not bottle your emotions
celebrate every accomplishment big or small
what matters most is what you think about yourself, screw anybody else's opinion of you
do not allow people to walk in and out of your life; you are not a convenience
remember to breathe

How often do you turn to yourself and seek ways to improve?

Six Ways to Style A Jumpsuit

Thursday, October 20, 2016
Many ladies shy away from jumpsuits, thinking that this type of garment is unflattering and difficult to pull off. Still, if you follow some simple rules when it comes to choosing the right one and styling it properly, your outfit and figure can truly amaze anyone who looks at you. It’s all about the confidence, proper fit and right accessories.
+
1. Find The Perfect Fit
If you’re on a search to find a nice jumpsuit, make sure to try on every single one that catches your attention. This is essential, because the wrong size or cut can really exaggerate bumps and curves that you might not want to show. This doesn’t mean that you have to find a tight jumpsuit. Loose ones are very trendy, too, and finding the perfect fit means comfort and flattering look in all the right places.
2. Make Your Waist Pop
If you want to accentuate your waist, jumpsuits are actually a perfect piece of garment to do so. Depending on your preferred style, you can use a statement belt or a silk scarf and tie those around your waist. This will give structure as well as an additional touch of uniqueness to the whole outfit, and showcase your waistline in a flattering and stylish manner.
3. Layer Up
Layering never fails, not even when you wear a jumpsuit. In order to make things more interesting and fashionable, remember to pair your jumpsuit with a cardigan or sweater. Also, you can spice things up by wearing a turtleneck, or some other striking cut for top, underneath the jumpsuit. Jazz up with some nice accessories and you’re good to go and mesmerize those around you.
4. Choose The Color/Pattern Carefully
Jumpsuit is going to make the most of your outfit, which means that whatever color the jumpsuit is, that’s the color that’s going to stick out in your entire look. If you’re new to the jumpsuit trend, it might be best to start off with solid color jumpsuits, by choosing the shade that goes perfectly with your skin tone. Of course, as you get used to it, you can easily introduce more patterns into your look.
5. Wear Heels
If you want to make things more elegant, leg jumpsuits and especially those that end a tiny bit above your ankles look truly gorgeous when paired with heels. Depending on your style and the time of the year, you can go with classy stiletto high heels or ankle booties with a chunkier heel. Either way, this look will definitely make you look refined and stylish.
6. Go From Causal To Formal
If you like to be playful with your clothes and generally find it practical to buy pieces that can be versatile for many different occasions, jumpsuits are a perfect garment to have in your wardrobe. This is fairly easy to do with leg jumpsuits, but if you want to try ones that reveal more skin, you can transform the look in an instant. Casual playsuits paired with mid-thigh socks and Converse can drastically change to formal playsuits when paired with some elegant tights and gold jewelry, or sophisticated pearls and formal shoes.
Simply dashing off to the nearest store to buy a jumpsuit is not the key factor for success when pulling off this look is concerned. You’ll need to have a little bit of patience and take your time to try on different styles, cuts and colors in order to find the design that looks absolutely amazing on you and flatter your body type. Still, once you get a hang of it, jumpsuits will undoubtedly become your favorite piece of clothing, not only because they look great, but they are also very comfortable.

How to Achieve Your Skin Goals

Friday, October 14, 2016

Getting the skin of your dreams can be a rocky path. All of those products, brands and ingredients can be overwhelming and you soon might get the feeling you don’t really have time for all that. However, the truth is – anyone can have beautiful skin. It does take some time to figure out what works best for you, but once you set up your routine – it all becomes a piece of cake.
Here’s what you should do to get the skin you’ve always dreamed of.

Know your skin

Reading ingredient lists, labels, and reviews of a certain skin care product mean nothing if you don’t know what your own skin is like. The commercial said that face serum is great for normal to oily skin, but how do you know if it’s good for you?
It’s not hard to determine what your skin type is so spend some time observing your face – are your cheeks dry and flaky? Does your T-zone get shiny a couple of hours after washing your face? Get your facts straight and only then you’ll be ready to shop for skin care products.

Do your research

As for ingredients, try to avoid anything containing parabens, fragrance, phthalates and synthetic colours. Those chemicals are completely unnecessary in a skin care product but can be harmful to your health.
Learn from the women who put skin care first, and always opt for high-quality organic skin care products because they’re based on nourishing and natural ingredients that can only benefit your skin and complexion.

Learn about proper order

It’s very important to understand in which order you should apply the skin products. Whatever you do, you should exfoliate first – it will remove the dead cells off your face and let the products get to your skin. Think of those dead cells as a barrier and remove them.
Next, you should know that whatever you apply first to your clean skin, that will be the product that will be absorbed the best. So, be wise and apply the products with the most active ingredients or a product that combats your biggest problem first. Damp, warm skin will absorb the products best and all of those products should be sealed with some kind of occlusive ointment – think natural oils or wax to keep everything in its place.

In the morning

Most women skip morning skin care routine with the excuse of being late for work, but this is an essential part. You need to prepare your skin for anything that will interact with it during the day. First, wash your face and exfoliate. Afterwards, you should apply the serum or a moisturizer to make your skin glow and look fresh.
Another important thing on the list is sunscreen. It’s mandatory to put it on, even if it’s going to rain – you have to protect your skin from the UV rays. Of course, you can opt for a multi-purpose product – like a moisturizer with a built-in SPF and kill two birds with one stone.

In the evening

Never ever go to bed without at least cleaning your face. A cleanse is a must to remove all the makeup and dirt from your face. Again, put a serum and/or a moisturizer and then proceed to apply special skin treatment, if you use any. Whether it’s an anti-acne or anti-wrinkle treatment – save it for the nighttime. The skin gets warmer while you sleep and absorbs better, so retinoid-based creams will work best on rejuvenating your skin when you’re in bed.
There are two more things you should do to achieve your skin goals: hydrate yourself and be patient. It’s amazing what enough water can do to your skin. Besides, the road to beautiful skin is not a sprint, it’s a marathon, so take it easy and the results will come.

WINGED EYELINER WITH A LIQUID PEN

Applying classy winged eyeliner, in a sultry style, with a liquid pen, sounds a bit tricky skill to master. A little imbalance and slight wrong movement of the hand may cause havoc to your eyes. Therefore, here we share some authentic tips and techniques expressed by makeup experts who are helpful for the novices, in putting on a bright, stylish look of a cat eye wing with a liquid pen liner.
The felt tip liquid liners are very similar to the ordinary markers available in the market and have eyeliner ink passing through it like a pen. They used for their exclusive quality of precision and are usually available in the form of a pen with the soft brush kind of tip. The intended darkness, delicacy and all dressed up look which is desired in shortest possible time is attained by a liquid pen liner. It creates a sharp finish and true definition to your eyes, and the wing of the eyeliner gives all the party look that you desire. Just follow these easy steps to apply a liquid pen, winged eyeliner, in no time at all.
STEP 1:
Start by putting on the little primer with your fingertip on your eyelids. It will keep your liner smudge free for a longer period. After that, add some concealer or a foundation to the area of skin around your eyes. It will hide all the imperfections and dark hues that will enhance the beautiful effect of the eyeliner.
If your skin is bit oily, a bit of loose powder added with a cat or smokey eye makeup brush would keep your skin fine and matte.
STEP 2:
You need to relax before applying a pen liner. Rest your elbow on a table and put your pinky finger on your cheek at the side of the eye. The more stabilized your posture would be the more you would prevent any jerky mess-ups.
STEP 3:
While applying a liquid pen liner, avoid drawing a straight line directly as it will increase the chances of uneven line or wavy hand movement. It’s more useful to start by applying tiny dots or dashes in a single line, evenly spacing them apart. It must be closest to your eyelashes. After you reached the edge of your eye, go back to your tear duct and start connecting these dashes in short but steady strokes. Keep the eyeliner pen a bit slanted. It will help in keeping the line sleek and smooth. Maintain the line as thin as possible in the beginning, making it a bit thicker while reaching the outer edge.
STEP 4:
Next is to make the wing at the outer edge of the eye. For making a perfect wing is not as difficult as it might appear to you, especially if you are using a liquid pen liner. There are three ways to do it smoothly, and you can follow the one you find yourself more comfortable.
·         Place the body of your pen liner at the angle of about 45 degrees at the outer edge of your eye. Put it on your face in such a way that it touches the end of your eyebrow and the side of your nose from the both ends. Here you have the perfect flick angle required to make a cat eye wing. Imagine and put a dot in the exact place you want your wing to end. It’s your choice whether you want long flirty wing or modest smaller one. Now connect that dot with the outer edge’s eye line and make it thick as well as symmetrical.
·         Use a small piece of scotch tape for drawing a styled wing with your liquid pen liner. Cut a short piece of scotch tape, place it on the back of your hand, two or three times. It will make it less sticky for your eyes. Now place it from beneath of your eye’s inner eye lash, ending it with outer edge of eye brow. Using this as a stencil draw a wing over it, connecting it to your eye lids line. Remove the tape after it’s dry.

·         You can use the corner of a business card to get a perfect wing. Follow the above instructions for placing it at the correct angle and using it as a scale, draw a line over it, connecting it to your eyelids.
Keep your eyelids taut while applying liner and if there is a little bit mess, remove it by a cotton swab lightly dipped in makeup remover.

Q&A

Sunday, October 02, 2016

I am working on a lot of changes for my site. I thought it would be fun to do some q&a's with you guys.
Please answer this Q&A in the comment section below!

My Response:

I would tell teenage Sasha Elizabeth to follow her heart. Never let anyone place their expectations of themselves on you. Often times people like to tell you who to be or what to do. If you want to be a plumber. Do it! Be the best plumber there is! If you want blue hair! Dye your hair blue and slay!!!

I can't begin to tell you how many times someone told me that I shouldn't pursue fashion. I should consider a career that was more stable. I listened and put off really working at what I knew I couldn't go a day without thinking about.
Just the other day, I thought about how creative I am but I don't necessarily use my talent. I draw and do so many other things but I don't put myself out there. From as long as I remember, I've been into fashion and beauty.
As a ;little girl, I loved playing dress up in my grandmother's clothes and shoes. I remember the first time I realized I wanted to design clothes. In junior high, I would sit and sketch clothes in class every day. I watched the style network, fashion shows and played video/computer games that pertained to fashion.
After high school, I went to art school for two years and couldn't finish because it was way too expensive. I became really depressed and thought it was the end of the world. I stopped sewing and drawing. I stopped doing things that I loved. I began to think maybe it was a sign that I should give in,
But here I am at 25, with the same dream, trying! I fell so many times, and made so many mistakes but this is my passion.
I know that I am supposed to design clothes. I know that I am supposed to work for myself. The thing is I have to let go of the fear of failing and stop listening to what people have to say and just do. At least if I fail, I know I tried. Life is about taking risks!
