Let's talk

Monday, May 30, 2016

This post is a little different than my usual post. My blog is self entitled, which means parts of my content will reflect pieces of me. I want to have discussions about certain topics to build a connection with my readers in hopes of open and honest feedback in return.

So here goes!

Have you noticed how time is flying? It will soon be the end of the year in a blink of an eye. Time waits for no one. The other day I was feeling a bit discouraged. I referred to a letter that I wrote myself along with my list of goals for year 2016. After looking at both of these, my spirits were lifted instantly. The only person I want to impress is myself. I am working on becoming the woman I want to be. Each day I try to commit to doing something that pushes me closer to my dreams. Do your dreams scare you? My dreams do because it means I have to step of out my comfort zone. They say if your dreams don't scare you, you aren't dreaming big enough. Have you accomplished any of your goals that you set for this year? What or who keeps you motivated to accomplish those goals? Please share below in the comment section :D

Here is a little excerpt from my letter to myself.

  1. That saying that if your dreams don't scare you they are not big enough comes to ind. Hopefully our baby steps lead up to where we want to be. I enjoyed reading this.

  6. Omg, something here just touched me and inspired me which is stepping out of your comfort zone to achieve that dream. My dreams are quite scary that sometimes i thinks its not achievable but having read this it only means that i need to step out of my comfort zone and push the envelope ,take risks and challenge myself further. Thanks so much for sharing this.

  8. What a great post! I always think it's important to enjoy the tough journey leading up to the goal. You will get there - but it's so crucial to enjoy all the tiny steps along the way. We literally celebrate every small achievement in our house. It just makes life a little more fun! ;) Thanks so much for sharing.

  9. This is such a great post, Sasha! I love that your blog is self entitled and you've shared why, to share pieces of yourself with others. I don't believe I've ever had that explained by others who have a self entitled blog before. I love the snippet you've shared from your letter to yourself. My favorite part is, "Continue to work on your goals in silence." I feel there is power and more motivation when you don't let everyone know what you're intentions for success are. It prevents people from putting their sometimes unwanted two cents and negative outlook that can so easily deter or set us of track completely. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you're having the best start to your week so far!

    1. Jalisa,

Thanks so much for sharing your commentary! I do believe life is much better when people do not know what you are up to. Everybody isn't happy for you and they'll even try to discourage you.

Enjoy your week as well :D

I am the same way which is why I try to practice not getting upset over things I can not control. Look at it this way, at least you tried. If one thing doesn't work out, you can always try something else :D

  16. Hey Sasha. I once wrote a letter to myself in Junior high but in the process of moving houses I must have misplaced it. Self reflection is a great idea and stepping out of your comfort zone is the right step into the right path. My dreams motivate me rather than scaring me. Lovely post.x

  19. Love that your being so transparent! I set no goals or resolutions this year because all I want to do is live. I want to wake up healthy and see the sunrise and sleep well each night. I took all of that for granted until I became sick and I realized that God has me right where he wants me to be...Happy...Healthy...and always dreaming! xo
