Let's talk

Monday, May 30, 2016

This post is a little different than my usual post. My blog is self entitled, which means parts of my content will reflect pieces of me. I want to have discussions about certain topics to build a connection with my readers in hopes of open and honest feedback in return.

So here goes!

Have you noticed how time is flying? It will soon be the end of the year in a blink of an eye. Time waits for no one. The other day I was feeling a bit discouraged. I referred to a letter that I wrote myself along with my list of goals for year 2016. After looking at both of these, my spirits were lifted instantly. The only person I want to impress is myself. I am working on becoming the woman I want to be. Each day I try to commit to doing something that pushes me closer to my dreams. Do your dreams scare you? My dreams do because it means I have to step of out my comfort zone. They say if your dreams don't scare you, you aren't dreaming big enough. Have you accomplished any of your goals that you set for this year? What or who keeps you motivated to accomplish those goals? Please share below in the comment section :D

Here is a little excerpt from my letter to myself.

Skincare Regimen

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Hi guys! I wanted to share my current skincare regimen with you. These are all of the products I am currently using on my skin. I am always searching for products to help clear up my blemishes.  I am constantly switching up my regimen. To be honest, I am over wasting money on products that do not work for my skin but what can you do? It's a method of trial and error. The products displayed are working well for me so far. I will post my before and after results in a few months. Do you guys know of any products that work well for oily skin and acne scars?

Below are the steps I use:

Step 1 - Remove makeup
Step 2 - Cleanse to thoroughly remove all of the dirt and oil from your skin
Step 3 - Tone
Step 4 - Moisturize

Major key alert: You should frequently change your pillow case and keep your hands out of your face to maintain clear skin :)

Garnier Micellar Water
(This is the best makeup remover ever! It's like magic! Now you see me, now you don't! All of your makeup is gone in a couple wipes. It even removes waterproof mascara!)

Clarisonic Mia 2
(This is honestly the best investment ever. I am so glad I purchased this Clarisonic Mia 2! It removes all the dirt and oil from my skin. It's waterproof which is pretty awesome because I can use it in the shower.)

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser
(I put a drop of Cetaphil onto my Clarisonic and let it cleanse away!)

4 oz Certified Organic Turmeric Soap by Vi-Tae
(I use this nightly)

St. Ives Even & Bright Scrub
(I exfoliate with this product twice a week  I noticed my spots lightening up within two weeks of use.)

 Neutrogena Oil-Free Triple Action Toner
(I use this product after cleansing my face)

PONDS Dry Skin Cream
(I only use a drop of the PONDS to moisturize because it is very oily)

Coconut Oil

You may use baby shampoo or dish detergent

Place one drop of soap in palm

Dip brush in oil (a little bit) & spin brush into your palm

Squeeze the excess water out of your brush

Woah! Look at the residue!

Yuck!

Not quite! *cleans brush again*

Oh yeah!

Lean your brushes upright on a paper towel and allow them to dry overnight!

These babies are clean and ready for use :)

How often do you clean your brushes? Do you use the same method?

NYX Liquid Suede Lippies

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

NYX is one of my favorite brands. NYX has great quality products for affordable prices.  Have you guys tried NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick? Okay, maybe I am late! Unfortunately, I never tried any of their liquid suede products. I saw a display of these products in a department store. I love spring because I get to experiment with bright colors. I chose the colors: coral, lavender and orange. Have you noticed that orange is pretty trendy at the moment?
First Impression:
I tried these out when I got home. The NYX liquid suede cream lipsticks are very pigmented. I must say, I love the application. It is very soft on the lips and has a matte finish. I would use a liner with these because they can get a little messy. No one wants to go out in public with bleeding lipstick, right? Also, you may need to apply the product twice because it appears translucent and streaky.
